Debbie Harry teamed with CHIC producers Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards for her first solo album outside of Blondie. Release in 1981 on Chrysalis, the gold-selling KooKoo was a groundbreaking fusion of funk, rock, disco, and new wave, spawning two charts hits, "Backfired" and "The Jam Was Moving." The album pre-dates Rodgers' work with David Bowie and Madonna and stands among his most innovative productions.
